Which Occupations Exposed to Asbestos in Washington?
Video Transcript
Washington has one of the highest rates of asbestos disease in the country that includes mesothelioma, asbestosis and lung cancer and the trades that are at highest risk include pipefitters, insulators, boilermakers, machinists, electricians, and people who may have worked in the 1940s 50s, 60s, 70s and maybe the 80s at industrial job sites in Washington.
That includes shipyards, paper mills, oil refineries and other industrial sites where these trades people would go in and do their job whether it’s pipefitters working on pipes, electricians working on electrical components or insulators removing and placing insulation, and it either be working hands-on with the asbestos themselves or they may not be right next to another person who is working with asbestos materials and an unknowingly are exposed to asbestos.
Each of those different types of trades we see frequently in Washington because of the highest asbestos exposures involved in that work. At Bergman Oslund Udo Little, we help families secure over a billion dollars in recoveries for asbestos disease claims and we can help you and your family get the recovery you deserve.
